HONOR 6
On July 17, 2017, the OLHS hockey program experienced a great tragedy when the life of 17 year old Gavin Schlotterbeck, a rising senior at OLHS, was lost in a car crash. Gavin had been a member of the hockey program since his freshman year and was so proud to be part of this team. He loved the game and especially his teammates. As the community mourned, the Honor6 logo was born, Gavin’s number being 6, to honor and remember his life and impact. The number 6 jersey was subsequently retired in his memory.
Gavin lives on in our hearts and this logo reminds us to live everyday to the fullest and play the game with integrity and pride.
Gavin is survived by his parents, Troy and Stacy, and his younger brother, Gage, who was a part of the program from 2019-2022.
